Is the Prologue still available?

The Prologue launched as a free standalone game on December 1, 2025. Its Steam page currently says it is no longer available from the store, so a new player may not see an install button even though older videos and articles still describe it as free.

Check the Prologue Steam page for the live status. If it remains unavailable, the paid Pax Autocratica Early Access game is the current playable release.

What was included in the Prologue?

The Prologue focused on the first sector, Elysia. It introduced the basic colony-management and expedition structure on a deliberately smaller scale: direct citizens, prepare the colony, leave on first-person expeditions, fight, and bring progress back to the settlement.

Steam's Prologue notes specifically say that deeper automation, mechs, and other late-game mechanics were not included. It was therefore closer to a self-contained preview than a free copy of the full game.

The Prologue can still show the game's tone and basic rhythm, but it should not be used to judge current balance, current interfaces, or the full set of Early Access systems.

Does progress carry over?

Steam does not provide a clear save-transfer promise on the pages checked for this guide. Treat the Prologue and the main game as separate products unless Multiverse publishes an explicit transfer instruction.

If you played the Prologue, assume that your familiarity with the opening loop may help, but do not plan around inherited progress, identical balance, or unchanged building behavior.

Should a new player start with it?

If Steam restores the download, the Prologue is a low-risk way to sample the setting and early loop. If it is unavailable, skip it and begin with the current Early Access game; you are not required to finish the Prologue first.
