What was the Prologue?

The official Steam page describes Pax Autocratica: Prologue as a free stand-alone release. It invited players to establish a regime in the first sector, Elysia, and to experience the colony-sim plus FPS-roguelite identity before the full game.

“Stand-alone” matters here. The Prologue is not simply a hidden tutorial page inside the current EA store product, and the official page does not promise that Prologue progress becomes a current main game save. The safe reading is that it was its own limited product and a way to sample the concept.

The page also states that the scale of the base and battles is smaller than Early Access. That gives the Prologue genuine value as an introduction while setting a firm limit on what it represents. A visible behavior in the Prologue may be real for that product and still be changed, expanded, or absent in current EA.

The official notes specifically exclude deeper automation, mechs, and other late-game mechanics. Do not assume a Prologue recording represents every system in the current Early Access game.
