Pax Autocratica Capture Rounds: What Is Confirmed?
Understand what Capture Rounds do in Pax Autocratica, what recent Steam updates changed, and which recipes and success rates remain patch-sensitive.
Ce guide indépendant de fans n’est pas affilié à Multiverse. Pax Autocratica est développé et publié par Multiverse.
Capture Rounds are the ammunition or tool used in the current enemy-capture loop. Official updates confirm new advanced rounds with higher chances against Elites and Bosses, changing material requirements, and a capture pity system, but they do not publish a complete current recipe, quantity, or success-rate table.

The Surprise of The Year That Shouldn't Work: PAX AUTOCRATICA
Chaîne: The Singleplayer Squad · Early Access feature
Quick answer
Capture Rounds are used to capture weakened enemies. They are not a normal combat-ammo detail that can be documented once and forgotten: official Early Access updates have changed their material requirements and added advanced variants.
The safe current claim is that round choice matters, especially for Elite and Boss targets. The unsafe claim is a permanent table of recipes, round counts, exact odds, or one universal “best” round without a build number.
What the official updates confirm
Confirmed: advanced rounds exist
The latest official capture update says three new advanced Capture Rounds were added. It also says they provide higher capture chances against Elites and Bosses. That supports a target-aware choice, not a complete tier list.
Confirmed: costs have changed
An earlier official update increased the material requirements for Capture Rounds. A still older note reduced some material requirements when the system was adjusted. This is why old screenshots and guide tables are unsafe as the current recipe source.
Confirmed: the system has pity-style protection
Official update notes mention a capture pity system. The public notes do not explain its formula, counter, reset behavior, or whether the current implementation works identically for every target type. Treat the existence of the system as Confirmed and its exact math as Unknown.
Confirmed: failed attempts have a temporary combat consequence
The latest official notes say a target cannot be killed for a short period after a failed capture. This should be written as a temporary no-kill window, not as permanent invulnerability or a guaranteed follow-up capture.
How to use the rounds without overcommitting
- Check the current build's available round and material requirement.
- Weaken the target before attempting capture.
- For an Elite or Boss, prefer an advanced round when the current build makes one available.
- If the attempt fails, use the temporary window to reassess rather than assuming the target is permanently protected.
- Record the patch date when reporting a recipe, quantity, or success result.
For the complete combat sequence, see How to Capture Enemies.
What this page intentionally does not claim
The official sources currently used here do not establish:
- a complete round-by-round recipe table;
- a fixed number of rounds per expedition;
- exact success percentages;
- a universal health threshold;
- a universal keybind;
- the exact effect of the pity system on the next attempt;
- the exact post-capture prisoner workflow.
If a guide gives one of these numbers, classify it as Observed until it is reproduced in the current build and tied to a dated source.
Capture Rounds and progression
Capture Rounds sit between combat preparation and colony logistics. Materials must be available, the target must be in a capture-eligible state, and the player needs to understand what happens after the round is used. A missing round can therefore look like a combat problem, a production problem, or a progression problem.
Use these neighboring guides when diagnosing the whole chain:

- Expeditions for preparation and return context;
- Known Issues when the same symptom survives a fresh, reproducible check.
FAQ
Are Capture Rounds the same as normal ammunition?
Do not assume so. They belong to the capture interaction and have their own material requirements and update history.
Which Capture Round is best?
There is no stable public universal answer. Advanced rounds have higher capture chances against Elites and Bosses according to the official update, but the exact costs and odds are patch-sensitive.
Why does my old recipe no longer work?
Official updates have changed Capture Round material requirements. Compare the guide date and game version before treating a mismatch as a bug.
Does the pity system guarantee the next capture?
Unknown from the public official notes. The existence of a capture pity system is Confirmed; its exact guarantee, counter, and reset behavior are not.
